Praxis: a Public Ceramics Fellowship
Requirements/Eligibility:
Must have successfully completed the Public Ceramics Fellowship
Have at least one year/12 months of ceramics classes
Project proposal (what ideas are you interested in working on?)
Portfolio
CV
What the Praxis offers:
3 months of membership with 24/7 access and private work shelves (February 1 - April 30, 2026)
Biweekly mentorship (or 10 hours, depending on how you want to spread it out)
The Praxis Fellow will have biweekly 1-2 hour meetings with their mentor. The first meeting will be to develop and refine the project proposal and chart a course for the 3 month fellowship. The final meeting will be to reflect on the fellow’s work and growth. In addition to design and conceptual work, the fellow should also identify technical skills they would like to develop.
Firing Fees $150/month
Specific skill training sessions
In 2026, Public Ceramics is expanding its programming to include a Winter Praxis session. The Praxis fellowship will allow one former PCF fellow to further refine and develop their practice via a 3-month membership at Gasworks NYC.
Importantly: this is a beta launch of the program. The ideal fellow will help us develop what this program could look like and how best we can support future fellows in this position.
Applications for the Winter 2026 Praxis (February 1-April 30, 2026) are due by December 20, 2025.
